Upcoming classes this autumn at Schoolhouse For Art, Enniskerry

I'm back again at Schoolhouse for Art, Enniskery this autumn. I’m looking forward to doing life drawing and portraiture evening classes and a figure painting weekend.

The first evening class is Foundations of Life Drawing. This life drawing class is modelled on the regular drawing class we used to do at the FAA, Sweden in my time there. This class is specifically aimed at improving your figure drawing with pencil or charcoal. This means focussing on fundamentals such as choosing what to observe, what to ignore, simplifying the subject, simplifying technique and keeping your drawing flexible.

The second evening class is Painting the Portrait with Sitter. This class is a continuation of the same very successful and very popular portrait painting class held before at Schoolhouse. We will be working from life in oils learning about paints, palette mixing, drawing, creating a light effect and a sense of form and atmosphere.

Lastly, there is a weekend of Painting the Nude from Life in November. We will paint the figure for 10 hours over 2 days looking at all aspects of working from life to create a naturalistic figure painting.
