Iliya Mirochnik (Ukraine)

I first came across Mirochnik from some of his tutorial videos on youtube and elsewhere. Trained at the I.E. Repin Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, he now works and teaches in various places in America. Personally, I’ve long considered the Russian academic method to be the most thorough and most comprehensive available today, and it’s not even close in my opinion. This puts a Western-based, English-speaking proponent of their art such as Mirochnik in quite a unique position.
